Asia 21 Young Leaders Summit Concludes

Gurgaon: The Asia Society’s Asia 21 Young Leaders Summit concluded on Sunday at the Westin Hotel, Gurgaon. The three day summit brought together young achievers from various fields where they held discussions on a variety of topics.

 

 

The summit that began on Friday witnessed discussions that covered the issues of inequality in the Asia-Pacific region, demographic problems, sustainable energy, corruption, women empowerment and civil rights. The leaders contemplated the possible solutions for these topics of concern.

Some of the delegates also presented their ideas for a Public Service Project. All the delegates present signed up for various projects to extend their support for the same. Each project was worked on and a plan of action for the future was developed.

The delegation included prominent leaders like Lobsang Sangay, Prime Minister of Tibetan Government in Exile; Wahidullah Waissi, Senior Advisor to the Minister of Finance, Afghanistan; Rashneh Pardiwala, Director, Centre for Environmental Research and Education; Ejaj Ahmad, Founder and President, Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center; and Nitin Das, Director, Filmkaar Productions.

The delegates also met the Delhi Chief Minister Ms Sheila Dikshit. They had an opportunity to get a glimpse of Indian culture through performances of dance and puppetry.
