New Delhi: The State Council of Education, Research and Training (SCERT) has decided to give 20 minutes extra time per hour in examinations to disabled examinees taking assistance of a writer. The decision was taken by SCERT after complying with the recommendations of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has decided to give Rs 50,000 to people who marry a person with 40 per cent or above disability. The scheme would be launched in the entire state and will promote greater integration of physically challenged people into mainstream society.
