Geneva: The latest ‘World Report on Disability’ by World Health Organization (WHO) says that more than one billion people across the world faces some or the other kind of disability.

New Delhi: The Delhi University has decided to come forward and help the disabled students in getting admissions in the university affiliated colleges.

Pune: The University of Pune will soon be the first university in the country to have a disabled friendly website. The official website of the university will become disabled friendly form next year.

Chandigarh: The Armed Forces tribunal has passed out a judgement to provide disabled child of a deceased serviceman family pension for his entire life, even if married. The judgement was passed after realising the failure of the pension controlling authorities to amend the policy issued by the President of India.

New Delhi: The State Council of Education, Research and Training (SCERT) has decided to give 20 minutes extra time per hour in examinations to disabled examinees taking assistance of a writer. The decision was taken by SCERT after complying with the recommendations of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has decided to give Rs 50,000 to people who marry a person with 40 per cent or above disability. The scheme would be launched in the entire state and will promote greater integration of physically challenged people into mainstream society.
