Government to subsidise tech to encourage use of solar equipments

Lucknow: The government is subsidizing technology and encouraging people to use solar equipment in order to promote the concept in India.

In few villages giving 50% discount for up to 200mw to set up a solar power plant has paid off and others are in line.

The main aim of this project is to ensure affordable and uninterrupted power supply to the country along with reduced usage of fossil fuels so as to promote a greener, cleaner and fresher environment.

V.K. Tiwari, the project officer  in UP said, “Green energy is clean energy.” there is a huge potential to tap solar energy in India because of the 300 sunny days available.

The Government of India has launched Jawaharlal Nehru Solar Energy Mission to promote ecologically sustainable growth. The focus of this mission is to facilitate the penetration of solar energy in the country with the multi-agency approach. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has introduced a scheme which extends capital; interest subsidies on loans availed from various financial institutions so as to lure the clientele.
