Thiruvananthapuram: The Education Department of the state is planning to introduce an educational reality show for the school children. The 75-episode show is a joint initiative of the department’s technology wing IT@School and ViCTERS (Virtual Class Technology on Edusat for Rural Schools).

The programme aims at unfolding the creativity and innovation in the school children. The participants would be from Class I to Class X.

The programme will be telecasted from November to January.

In the programme, the teachers and students of various schools will present with the help of videos, IT-enabled communication tools and any other forms of communication.

Each episode will have three segments. The first segment will be a profile of the school, then there will be a video prepared by the channel on the different activities of the school, and then the school will be given an opportunity to present their performance before a jury.

The overall performance of the school in at least three of the fifteen sectors suggested will be evaluated.

Besides that a web portal would be created to give information on all aspects of the schools across the state with multimedia contents. The portal will be an extension to the School Wiki portal.
