The awareness camps will be organised in all divisions and mandals of all States and Union Territories to create awareness about the rights and safeguards provided in the Constitution of India for the Scheduled Caste population.
The National Commission for Scheduled Castes feels the importance to make people aware of their rights. Unless the beneficiaries are made aware of various government schemes and programmes, they will not be able to enjoy their rights.
Many instances of discrimination, injustice and prejudices resulting in marginalisation of Dalits and denial of benefits under the government schemes for housing, land entitlement, employment, social security and health to them have been reported.
