Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Government has taken steps to encourage the young Dalit entrepreneurs and help them be a part of the economic growth of the country by introducing a month-long residential entrepreneur programme. Around 50 entrepreneurs have enrolled for the pilot programme out of which, 25 are Dalits and the rest from other communities.

New Delhi: The much awaited Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojna, a government initiative aimed at villages having a Scheduled Caste majority will commence its pilot project in at least three states of the country. It will aim at ‘converging’ various Central and state government schemes in order to ensure that a model village has adequate physical and institutional infrastructure.

New Delhi: The Central Government has decided to establish a special cell to address the issues faced by Dalit women. The cell being set up by the National Commission for Women (NCW) will fight for the rights of Dalit women in the society.
