An initiative by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the Kisan Card will provide 24X7 cash transaction facility for the farmers. It will also bring down the cost of the transaction.
The card will be user-friendly, paperless and enable doorstep-banking transactions by farmers using their mobile handsets towards purchase of farm inputs.
Now, farmers can place the order over phone and transfer the purchase price through their mobile handset in no time. They can do multiple transactions as well.
The total cost of the project is Rs.44.66 lakh and the grant has been given by NABARD.
