Patna: Bihar is introducing the concept of landless garden and kitchen garden to landless poor to earn a livelihood.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Bihar Mahadalit Vikas Mission and three selected NGOs-Aga Khan Rural Support Programme India (AKRSPI), Srishti Foundation and Grameen Vikas Trust.

The NGOs were selected from 100 applicants.

Under the programme, people will grow vegetable plants on the thatched roofs of their hamlets.

The programme would initially benefit 15,000 mahadalit families who do not have means of livelihood and who earn daily wage in lieu of manual labour.
