Students in more than 100 countries held protests to urge their governments to take actions to tackle climate change.

More than 200 events were held in these countries, coordinated via social media, by volunteers under the banner of Fridays for Future.

In Australia, about 30,000 school and university students, parents, staff and activists gathered in Sydney and marched from Town Hall Square to Hyde Park.

More than 200 school students held protests in Delhi.

The protests were inspired by a Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg, who protests every Friday outside her country’s parliament. This week she got nominated for the Nobel Prize.
