After circumnavigating the globe over the last nine months, an all-women crew Indian naval sailing vessel, INSV Tarini, will return to the country this week.

The six-member team will be received at Mandovi, Goa on May 21 by the defence minister Nirmala Sitaraman.

The team had left the country on September 10 for the expedition, ‘Navika Sagar Parikrama’.

The expedition is lead by Lt. Commander Vartika Joshi, and the crew comprises Lt. Commanders Pratibha Jamwal, P Swathi, and Lieutenants S Vijaya Devi, B Aishwarya and Payal Gupta.

The expedition has been delayed due to damage to the vessel’s steering gear.
