The EU and African Union (AU) have agreed for an immediate evacuation of 3,800 of up to 700,000 African migrants, who are being detained dozens of camps in the North African country.
Both EU and AU, with the support of the UN, will set up a task force for repatriating the migrants and working out a long term solution for the issue.
Nearly half a million migrants have attempted to reach European shores since 2015 by crossing the Mediterranean from Libya. The Lybian govenment with the support of the EU has followed a policy of detaining the migrants, in over 40 camps.
Meanwhile, there there were reports about people being sold as slaves by human traffickers in the country.
