Marburg infected Ugandan man crosses to Kenya, dies

Medical officials in Kenya have put a family of seven in Trans Nzoia County under observation after a person from Uganda died of the disease at their place.

The dead person, a businessman, crossed the border and came to the house of the family, of a herbalist, to seek medical help after contaminating the disease, said the officials.

The East African reported that the lady herbalist was tested negative for both Ebola and Marburg virus, but has been put under observation for 21 days.

The deadly Marburg, one of the most virulent pathogens known to infect humans, has an incubation period of 21 days.
