In the latest outbreak, the number of cholera cases have reached 17 in Zambia’s capital Lusaka.
Cholera is endemic to the country, with outbreaks occurring every year, in the rainy seasons. Current outbreak has started from October 4, with the first signs of rain.
The sources of new outbreak have been identified by Unicef as contaminated water, contaminated food sold in the street and inadequate sanitation, which is exacerbated by low levels of hygiene practices.
The affected are admitted in the Kanyama Cholera Centre.
