Dengue, Malaria spike in capital this year: MCD data

While the number of dengue case in Delhi increased by 22% in 2017 compared to last year, Chikungunya cases saw a 85% drop.

There have been 1,777 reported cases of dengue this year, compared to 968 last year.

The number of chikungunya cases dropped to 283 in 2017, from 1911 in 2016, when there was an outbreak.

The week ending on September 16 itself saw 348 new dengue cases were being reported.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi data shows that the number of Malaria cases showed a spike this year with an increase of 68%, from 437 cases in 2016 to 734 cases in 2017.
